Men's Breakfast Group

Contact: Via Office

Following a Stewardship Campaign in 1994, it was suggested that a new group be formed to provide fellowship for younger men. Thus the Men's Breakfast Group was born and now includes men of all ages, some whom are not members of our congregation. We meet in the church hall at 7.30 am on the third Saturday of the month, with an average attendance of 17-18. Breakfast is cooked, in our new state-of-the-art kitchen, by men from the Group and comprises cereal and fruit juice, followed by ‘full English' (the record, so far, is nine item on the plate) toast and tea or coffee. We then have a twenty-minute talk by speakers from a wide range of groups and organisations.

Our June meeting takes the form of a family breakfast on the beach at Alnmouth, when our families are invited to join us for beefburgers, sausages, kippers and a short service on the beach. We also have a weekend away in the autumn, which for the last two years, has been at the Christian Guild Holiday Centre at Grange over Sands. This is a weekend of fellowship, with some input from our minister and an eight-mile lakeland walk on the Saturday.

We have a nominal roll of thirty members and men of the congregation, or friends, are welcome to join our friendly and enthusiastic group.
